Who Am I?

Paul has been regarded as a thought leader in the cyber security community for over twenty-seven (27) years, with seasoned expertise in security architecture, critical infrastructure and manufacturing cyber security, and IoT/IIoT cyber. His career has expanded across oil and gas, power utility, manufacturing, chemical and telecommunications, having held various technical and leadership roles of increasing complexity and accountability throughout. In his current capacity as a global OT leader within a Fortune 500 organization, Paul is accountable for guiding technical cyber strategy and direction for all global manufacturing facilities. Additionally, Paul works closely with oil and gas, energy, and other digital clients to integrate cyber security capabilities and strategies into their critical manufacturing and operating infrastructure life cycles. His approach enables engineering to “bake” defense-in-depth cyber strategies into the overall design of digital solutions, bolstering the oil and gas industry’s ability to have a more defensible posture against some of the world’s most complex cyber adversaries.

Paul holds a BS in Political Science from Texas A&M University, a MS in Administration of Justice and Security from University of Phoenix and is an Alpha Phi Sigma (National Criminal Justice Honor Society) inductee.  Additionally, he is CISSP, GICSP, and CISM certified, a prolific public speaker and mentor, and a member of several cyber-related organizations and working groups.  He has provided commentary on several security related podcasts, publications, and webinars that provided guidance and insight into strategies for critical infrastructure and manufacturing cyber defense.

Paul has a passion for mentoring and guiding people of color aspiring to contribute to the advancement of the industry and promoting diversity within the cyber community. He has invested significant time and resources in the furthering of those endeavors, spending time with students at HBCUs and participating in hackathons and roundtable discussions, offering insights and strategies into successfully entering the cyber field.
